Calendar access problems
Use this page when Calendar permission, linked events, or Calendar Peek are not working as expected.
Pinwork uses Apple’s EventKit system, so Calendar behavior depends on system permission and the calendars available on the device.
Grant full Calendar access
Section titled “Grant full Calendar access”Pinwork needs Calendar access to create, open, update, remove, or show calendar events.
If permission is denied or restricted, Pinwork can show Calendar Access Required with an option to open Settings.
Open system Settings and allow Calendar access for Pinwork.
Permission was denied
Section titled “Permission was denied”If you denied the first prompt, Pinwork cannot show the system permission prompt again by itself.
Open system Settings, find Pinwork, and change Calendar access there.
After changing permission, return to Pinwork and try the Calendar action again.
Scheduled task was not added to Calendar
Section titled “Scheduled task was not added to Calendar”If you expect scheduled tasks to become Calendar events automatically, check:
- Calendar access is allowed
- Automatically Add Scheduled Tasks is enabled in Settings under Calendar
- the task has a When date
- the task is not already linked to a Calendar event
- the selected target calendar is still available and writable
If no target calendar is selected, Pinwork uses the default Calendar event calendar when available.
Linked event is missing
Section titled “Linked event is missing”If a task’s linked Apple Calendar event was deleted outside Pinwork, Pinwork may still have the old event identifier on the task.
When full Calendar access is available and Pinwork detects that the linked event is missing, it can clear the task’s calendar link.
If permission is unavailable or the lookup fails, the task may remain linked until access is fixed and the action is retried.
Remove Calendar Link failed
Section titled “Remove Calendar Link failed”Remove Calendar Link deletes the linked Apple Calendar event and clears the task link.
If removal fails:
- check Calendar permission
- confirm the calendar account is available on the device
- confirm the event still exists in Apple Calendar
- try again after reopening Pinwork
If the event is already missing, Pinwork treats it as removed and clears the link when it can confirm that state.
Calendar Peek is empty
Section titled “Calendar Peek is empty”Calendar Peek shows events beside tasks in Today and Upcoming.
If it is empty:
- confirm Calendar access is allowed
- confirm Show Calendar Peek is enabled
- check the selected calendars
- confirm the device’s Calendar app shows events for the same range
- reopen Pinwork after changing calendar settings
Duplicate task and event display
Section titled “Duplicate task and event display”If Calendar Peek feels duplicated because a linked Pinwork task also appears as a Calendar event, turn off Show Linked Calendar Events.
That setting hides Pinwork-linked events from Calendar Peek while keeping other Calendar events visible.
Task and event both changed
Section titled “Task and event both changed”If both the Pinwork task and linked Calendar event changed since the last sync, Pinwork treats the task as the source of truth and writes task data back to the Calendar event.
If the result is not what you want, edit the task or event again after sync settles.
