Command palette
The command palette gives keyboard users a searchable way to run common Pinwork commands.
It is available on Mac and on iPad where keyboard commands are supported.
Open the command palette
Section titled “Open the command palette”Press Command-K.
If another text field or system shortcut is taking focus, click into the app or return to the main task list and try again.
Available commands
Section titled “Available commands”The command palette can include commands such as:
- New Task
- Search
- Toggle Sidebar
- Today
- Upcoming
- Inbox
- Projects
- All Tasks
- Archive
- Open Task in New Window
- Open Project in New Window
- Settings
- Refresh
The exact command set can vary by platform and current app state.
Navigation commands
Section titled “Navigation commands”Use navigation commands to jump between main Pinwork sections without using the sidebar.
Navigation commands do not change task data, so they are generally safe to use even when you are just trying to inspect the app.
New task and search
Section titled “New task and search”Use New Task when you want to capture without leaving the keyboard.
Use Search to open task search. Search is useful when you remember part of a task title, project, tag, or note but not where the task lives.
Task context rows
Section titled “Task context rows”Task-specific shortcut rows can appear as informational rows.
These actions need a selected or focused task, so they may not run directly from the palette without task context. Use the task list, task menu, or keyboard shortcut when you need to apply an action to a specific task.
When commands are limited
Section titled “When commands are limited”Some commands may be unavailable or ignored when:
- the first-run guide has navigation locked
- no task is selected
- access is locked
- a modal sheet is already open
- the current platform does not support the target window or layout
Commands that change task data are blocked when access is locked.
