Share Extension
Use the Share Extension to send a web page or selected text into Pinwork from another app on iPhone or iPad.
The Share Extension is useful for saving an article, quote, link, or note as a task.
Share a web page
Section titled “Share a web page”From another app, open the system Share Sheet and choose Pinwork.
When you share a web page, Pinwork can keep the URL and create a task using the page title or shared text when available.
Before saving, you can review the task information in the Share Extension.
Share selected text
Section titled “Share selected text”You can also share plain text.
When you share plain text, Pinwork uses the first line as the task title and the remaining text as notes.
This is useful for saving a quote, instruction, address, message, or other text you want to act on later.
Choose destination and context
Section titled “Choose destination and context”Before saving, the Share Extension can let you choose:
- Inbox
- Today
- Tomorrow
- project
- tags
- notes
Use Inbox when you only want to capture. Use Today or Tomorrow when you already know when you want to act on the shared item.
Unsupported share types
Section titled “Unsupported share types”The Share Extension supports:
- one web URL
- plain text
It does not support image, video, or file shares.
Natural-language parsing
Section titled “Natural-language parsing”The Share Extension keeps shared text raw.
It does not parse shared text for dates, tags, projects, recurrence, estimates, or calendar commands.
For example:
Call mom tomorrow at 2pmstays as task text unless you edit the task later.
Access lock behavior
Section titled “Access lock behavior”The Share Extension queues capture work for the main app to process.
