Focus Filters

Pinwork can work with Apple’s Focus Filters on iPhone and iPad.

Use this when you want a system Focus to open Pinwork to a specific default view, such as Today or Inbox.

Open the system Focus settings on iPhone or iPad.

Choose a Focus, add a Focus Filter, and select Pinwork.

Pinwork lets you choose the default view for that Focus.

Supported Focus Filter views include:

  • Today
  • Inbox
  • Upcoming
  • All Tasks

Choose the view that matches the context of the Focus.

For example, a Work Focus might open Today, while a Capture Focus might open Inbox.

When the Focus activates, the system passes the selected Pinwork filter state to the app.

Pinwork stores the chosen view and navigates there when the main app receives and applies the Focus state.

Repeated navigation to the same view is avoided.

When the Focus deactivates, Pinwork clears the active Focus Filter state.

It does not delete tasks or change task data. It only affects which view Pinwork opens or navigates to while the Focus state is active.

Pinwork ignores stale Focus Filter configurations after 24 hours.

This prevents old system state from unexpectedly navigating the app long after the Focus context is no longer current.

If the first-run guide has navigation locked, Focus Filter navigation can be ignored.

Finish the guide first, then use Focus Filters normally.
